About

I was born to Indian immigrant parents in the heartland of America, growing up in a farming town surrounded by salt-of-the-earth people. As I ventured off to college and beyond I had a natural curiosity about the world that fed my interests.

I followed my intrigue into an International Relations university program and afterwards into the far corners of the world. What I observed was eye-opening. I saw firsthand how communications technology was changing the worldview of entire communities; how their generations-long sociocultural traditions were being impacted by the digital portals they now held in their hands; how statecraft, media marketplaces and censorship played significant roles in both the type and frequency of information disseminated; how individuals were accessing ideas to lift themselves out of adverse circumstances in pursuit of previously impossible dreams or succumbing to exploitations designed to colonize their minds.

Ultimately I saw the power of digital - both constructive and destructive - and committed myself to a career harnessing it to build a global sense of communal empathy. In my ten-plus professional years of pursuing that mission, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of narratives, platforms and experiences that, I hope, serve my cause. If you’re here reading this, I wonder if perhaps we might connect in meaningful way to make a positive difference together.
